Angelo A. Ferrara
Angelo A. Ferrara is the principal shareholder and President of Rapt Enterprises, Inc (d/b/a Rapt Business Brokers). Angelo is a seasoned businessman with advanced degrees in engineering and business administration. He brings over 40 years of business experience to his engagements and has taught engineering and business courses at the graduate school level.
Upon graduating college, he went to work as an aerospace engineer to help “boldly go where no man had gone before.” Space intrigued his natural curiosity as it required the development of novel solutions to analyze and develop new procedures to solve unique challenges, previously not explored. He was trained to think as a systems analyst and helped develop complex techniques and computer programs to solve problems that had not been previously addressed. This training instilled a confidence in him to address and overcome challenging decisions in an analytic manner, using a focused process. This skill set has helped mold him as a professional manager, who is undaunted by challenges and appreciate that there is often more than one path to a solution.
After leaving the aerospace industry, he was employed as the General Manager of a pollution control company, with bottom-line responsibility.Having gained this commercial experience, he subsequently started a manufacturing business from himself operating out of a small building (2,000 square feet) to a business employing nearly 100, operating out of a 20,000 square foot facility. He has been in a small businessman and understands what it is to have true bottom-line responsibility, with personal investment at risk as opposed to professional managers working with other people’s money.
Angelo has first-hand experience negotiating with vendors, hiring clerical & skilled staff (machinists, welders, electricians, air conditioning techs, etc.), marketing and selling, preparing estimates, managing multiple jobs, delivering a product on-time, and COLLECTINGthe money. He appreciates how difficult it is to be the ultimate decisionmaker, who can’t pass the buck and has to be responsible for his actions.
In prior positions, Angelo was the General Manger of a pollution controlcompany, the Chief Engineer of a manufacturing business and the Chief Operating Officer of a commercial HVAC organization. He is a hands-on manager, with a proven ability to manage a profitable business.
